IMPRESSIONS ... Rug Project {April 19, 2013}

A RUG CAN MAKE A HUGE IMPACT
Rugs can help separate living spaces plus provide a fun decor at a nominal price.

I discovered a website that allows you to design a rug/carpet: "Carpet Squares that you assemble to create custom rugs, runners or wall-to-wall designs of any shape or size"

Yes, you can choose a variety of colored/patterned squares and create a wonderful piece.
For $5.00, you can receive 3 samples that represent the color and texture before you purchase.

Re-evaluate the above stated rule of thumb... Use warm colors, relaxing colors and fun colors to bring your home to life:
  • White can make a room invisible, which precludes the buyer imagining themselves in the home
  • Research shows color can influence a person's senses
  • Color is a very personal choice, so use subtle colors to create a warming effect buyers want in a home (Zimmer)
4 Steps to selecting a color:
  1. Coordinate with the room's use
  2. Paint for the season
  3. Use a directional approach
  4. Harmonize
